Angela. V.E. Clarke - Beagley is an experienced Artist and Tutor specialising in the use of Acrylics and Oils, having painted with these mediums for almost 35 years.

Well known for her Sussex coastal scenes, Angela has undertaken many commissions and since 2000 has also been tutoring.

Her finely detailed and accutely observed paintings, prints and cards of this beautiful part of East Sussex are collected in both the UK and abroad.

Sussex Poem

The sea comes up to lick the shore

a prelude to the coming tide,

and up aloft the chalky walls

the restless gull with cunning dives.

The lazy rivers and our streams

have banks and marshy land,

the rivers seek the open seas

the streams to hem the land.

Our village streets where many feet

have trod along the way,

to Saxon church in far oft times

and find a place to pray.

Our castles and their history

is a heritage we hold,

when Sussex stood forearmed

against the most formidable foe.

The softly rise of downland

lures the passerby to find a track,

then stand atop for awesome views,

before the journey back.

In this beautiful Southern county

with its shore, its wealds and downs,

are joys for life and living

for us to share and own.
